Thanks to a caring neighbor who quickly alerted the authorities, which saved these two sisters’ lives (names not given to protect privacy). Their father murdered their mother and was getting ready to kill them when his vicious plans were stopped. Today they are THRIVING in our care!

At the age of eight years, Salome’s father passed away, and her family’s home was burned down during a tribal war. Her mom was unable to care for her family financially, so she and her sister came to City of Hope. “I grew up in a Christian family and went to church as a child, but I truly gave my life to Jesus during my junior year of high school.” Salome’s currently a senior at Milligan University, majoring in Health Sector and Business Management, and will graduate in 2026.
