Our independence home for young men puts the finishing touches on their holistic education as they become productive citizens in their communities and beyond.

A NEW HOME

After experiencing several unforeseen delays, including a necessary relocation to another HopeCo property, construction of the new City of Hope Boys' Town home has resumed, and a projected move-in date is by the end of 2026. This welcoming environment is much anticipated by the 30 young men who will call this “home” as they complete their program.
FINAL PHASE

In this final phase of their training, our goal is to equip these young men to navigate the challenges of adulthood through structured living, and skills training. A Christian family will reside on the premises, providing supervision and exemplifying godly role models. The curriculum will focus on equipping them for practical life essentials.
IMPACTING COMMUNITIES

As these young men complete their program and return to their communities and beyond, their roles – from godly man, husband, father to leadership positions in the church and community – will require them to make honorable choices now and in the days and years ahead, as their daily example influences others to do the same. Leading by godly example and not word alone.

This quiet, yet ambitious young boy came to City of Hope at the age of eight years after losing both parents. Despite this crushing loss, Soteri* was determined to focus on his studies. And as this young boy grew and thrived, so did his relationship with Jesus!

Upon completing his national exams with flying colors, he was accepted into a local college to study Clinical Medicine. He could hardly believe it. As tears filled his eyes, he whispered, “I never thought this day would come.”

Soteri always dreamed of becoming a doctor to give back to others who suffer without the ability to get the medical care they need. Growing up, he often said, “One day, I’ll be the one holding the stethoscope.” That dream is now within his reach.

Soteri’s journey is a powerful reminder that no matter what the obstacle, hope and perseverance can open doors that once seemed impossible.

More than 40 young men and women are enrolled in university or vocational training/apprenticeship programs...and more are joining them each year. You can help them pursue their dreams to become doctors, teachers, accountants, engineers, construction workers, welders, auto mechanics, and more.
