Remembering Hilda Boke

With deep sadness, we remember Hilda Boke, beloved wife of Hudson Mahare, our East Africa Director, who passed away unexpectedly in Kenya after a brief hospitalization on February 7, 2026.
Hilda will be fondly remembered as a woman who loved the Lord and actively lived out her faith. A loving, devoted wife and mother of four children, she faithfully served as HopeCo Kenya Programs Director, filling many roles with grace and strength.
She was passionate about seeing the lives of vulnerable girls and young women transformed by the power of Jesus. As a counselor and teacher, Hilda provided leadership for HopeCo’s Women’s Empowerment Program and the House of Faraja in Kenya.
