Celebrating our first mission team since 2019!
THANK YOU, COMMUNITY CHURCH IN ASHBURN, VA, FOR SERVING WITH US!
The team of 14 people from Community Church, a HopeCo church partner, ran a Bible camp with the theme “Heart of a Champion.” The camp focused on how God gives each one of us a heart of courage, worship, and faith. The students and children enjoyed worship, Bible studies, arts and crafts, and sports - they even split into teams and competed against one another for the championship!
The team also painted beautiful murals at our medical center and primary school, built desks for teachers, and helped out with classes. We are grateful for how each member invested in our children, and they, and our staff, were so encouraged!
“The Lord helped me realize just how ungrateful we can be in America. He showed me how to take some of the values at City of Hope and transfer them to my family. I felt the Lord move me into deeper relationships with kids and staff. My heart is full and ready for more. My life has changed in so many wonderful ways!”
Upon returning to the US, many of the team members began sponsoring children, writing letters to kids they connected with and supporting our staff in East Africa. We are excited to see each team member share our vision to see lives transformed and communities flourishing!
