While 2020 has been a tumultuous year for us all, we can look back with gratitude to God for the changes we have seen in the lives of many children that we serve at City of Hope.

The month of December is referred to as “cutting season” in Ntagacha. Although the “cutting season” is technically illegal in Tanzania, it is rampant - and evil.

Amani Medical Center staff are poised to deal with some of the most difficult, tragic situations imaginable.

What a day! On November 6, 2020, we had 35 young people graduate from our Dr. John Chacha Secondary School - and City of Hope was abuzz with excitement as our band led the graduating students, all in their smartest clothing, out to our meeting venue, Freedom Square!

How is the pandemic impacting children around the world?

Can you imagine being a child suddenly separated from school and facing the threat of violence and hunger?

These are frightening times with cases of domestic violence and child abuse on the rise with lockdowns and school closures. How are children and teens at City of Hope doing in this unprecedented year of the global pandemic?

Three of our boys are proudly moving on to an Advanced Level Secondary School after successfully completing the first graduating class at our own school. Everyone at the City of Hope is overjoyed at their success!
